Post – Blast Investigation

The objectives of the explosion scene investigation are no different from those for a regular fire investigation: determine the origin of the explosion, identify the fuel and ignition source, determine the cause and establish the responsibility for the incident.

In fact a well trained, Post-Blast  investigator, will usually be able to collect enough physical evidence at the scene to accurately determine the area of origin and the cause. In the case of a criminal act, to determine the type of explosive device used and exactly how it functioned.
