FAIRGOER’S FAMILY WALKS AWAY $10,000 RICHER

WHAT: A press conference to present a ceremonial check for approximately $10,000 to Elizabeth and Chuck Huggins under the name of their late grandmother Ione L. Croy of Columbus. Elizabeth checked and found accounts under her grandmother’s name at the department’s Division of Unclaimed Funds booth at the State Fair.

WHEN: Monday, August 16 at 12:45 p.m.

WHERE: Bricker-Marketplace Building (south wall) at State Fairgrounds

WHY: To promote the opportunity for current and former Ohioans to check their name for unclaimed funds at the Department of Commerce State Fair booth.

In addition to giving Ohioans an opportunity to check for unclaimed funds, the Department of Commerce’s display at the State Fair gives children the chance to practice calling the fire department in case of an emergency. Additional displays highlight the Divisions of Real Estate And Professional Licensing, Financial Institutions, Industrial Compliance, Liquor Control, and Securities.
