STORYTIME AND NEW COLORING BOOK TO TEACH
BEVIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN THE VALUE OF SAVING
Event Kicks Off Ohio Department Of Commerce's
Observance Of Saving And Investing Education Week
Second and third graders at Bevis Elementary School (Northwest Local Schools) will learn the value of money during a book reading in the school's library on Monday, April 26, from 10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. The school is located at 10133 Pottinger Road, Cincinnati.
The book reading kicks off Ohio's observance of Saving And Investing Education Week (April 25-May 1). The week, which is being recognized in more than 20 countries, is designed to encourage individuals to save and make wise investment decisions. This year's theme is focusing on classroom instruction.
Thomas E. Geyer, Commissioner of the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Securities, will read "If You Made A Million" written by David M. Schwartz and illustrated by Steven Kellogg. The book, which stars Marvelosissimo The Mathematical Magician, highlights how money is used and how it can grow when properly saved.
Following the book reading, Commissioner Geyer will present the students with a new coloring book available from the Division of Securities. The students will have an opportunity to draw in their coloring book titled "Billy and the Basketball -- A Coloring Book about Saving Money."
