LYNNE HENGLE NAMED SUPERINTENDENT OF REAL ESTATE and PROFESSIONAL LICENSING
Director of Commerce Gary C. Suhadolnik has appointed Lynne Hengle as superintendent of the Ohio Department of Commerces Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing. This appointment will become effective on June 1, 1999.
As Superintendent of the Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing, Hengle will oversee the licensing of real estate brokers and salespersons, real estate appraisers, auctioneers, private investigators, and security guard providers. In addition, she will oversee the registration of foreign real estate properties and cemeteries while supporting the Ohio Cemetery Dispute Resolution Commission.
"Lynne Hengles unique abilities, combined with more than twenty years of experience in dealing with legal and regulatory issues, will be a valuable asset to the Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing," said Director Suhadolnik.
Immediately prior to her appointment, Hengle served ten years with the Ohio Department of Insurance, most of which as Chief Deputy Liquidator of insolvent insurers.
Hengle has a legal background and extensive experience with regulatory issues. After graduating Cum Laude from Western State University College of Law in 1976, she began her career with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) as Chief, Branch of Regulation and Interpretation in Los Angeles, California. In 1978, she left the SEC for the S & H Insurance Company in San Diego, California, where she served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel from 1978 to 1986. Following that, she served short stints with the Tictor Title Insurance Company as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, and the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies as Independent Claims Consultant before moving to Ohio in 1989.
