DAVID A. ARNOLD NAMED DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT FOR BANKS

Commerce Director Gary C. Suhadolnik and Superintendent of Financial Institutions F. Scott O'Donnell today announced the appointment of David A. Arnold as Deputy Superintendent for Banks. Mr. Arnold will begin his new duties today.

As Deputy Superintendent for Banks, Arnold will be responsible for the supervision and regulation of Ohio's 127 state-chartered banks.

Mr. Arnold's career in the financial services industry began in 1963. He has held management positions of increasing responsibility with banks in Ohio and Florida. In February 1998, he retired as Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer and Risk Manager of BancFirst Ohio Corp., Zanesville. BancFirst is the parent holding company of First National Bank of Zanesville.

Superintendent O'Donnell stated, "Dave's years of experience in virtually every aspect of bank operations and lending provide an excellent foundation as he assumes his new responsibilities. We are glad to have him with us."

Mr. Arnold resides in Zanesville.
