CHERYL LYMAN NAMED FISCAL CHIEF OF
OHIO DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
Director of Commerce Gary C. Suhadolnik has appointed Cheryl Lyman as Fiscal Chief of the Ohio Department of Commerce. Lyman will begin serving as Chief on Monday, May 17, 1999.
As Fiscal Chief, Lyman will help to develop the budget for the departments eight divisions which include: Administration, Financial Institutions, Industrial Compliance, Liquor Control, Real Estate and Professional Licensing, Securities, State Fire Marshal, and Unclaimed Funds. She will also be financial adviser for the director and all the division chiefs. Her duties also include overseeing and directing fiscal operations, financial related projects and also accounting for all revenue.
"Cheryl Lymans knowledge of managerial and budgetary issues will make her a superior leader and a tremendous asset to the department," said Director Suhadolnik.
Immediately prior to her appointment, Lyman was Policy Analyst for the State Science and Technology Institute from 1996 to 1999. Previously, she served as Senior Budget Management Analyst for the Ohio Office of Budget and Management from 1992 to 1999.
Lyman has held positions with the Ohio Department of Developments Thomas Edison Program and Ohio Consumers Counsel. Lyman has a masters degree in public administration and a bachelors degree, from the University of Virginia.
