What: Computer donation to Columbus City Schools by the Ohio Department of Commerce.

Where: Briggs High School, 2555 Briggs Road, Columbus.

When: Thursday, August 21, 1997 at 2:30 p.m.

Notes: The Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Industrial Compliance will deliver 6 CPU hard drives, 10 monitors, 8 printers, and 7 keyboards to Briggs High School to be used in their computer lab.

Director Owens will present the computer equipment in front of the school, and the students will carry it to their computer classroom. Mr. Martiny's students repair, remodel, and recycle computer equipment as a part of their studies. The Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Industrial Compliance replaced the computers being donated with newer, faster, and higher capacity equipment.

Thursday's event is being co-sponsored by the Ohio Department of Commerce and Briggs High School. It is being held in conjunction with Governor George V. Voinovich's regional cabinet day in Newark.

Also in conjunction with Governor Voinovich's regional cabinet day, Director Owens will present grants to three Fairfield County volunteer fire departments on behalf of the Ohio Department of Commerce at 12:30 p.m.. at the Richland Township Fire Department in Rushville and
