GARY KREBS NAMED STATE PLUMBING ADMINISTRATOR

Director of Commerce Donna Owens has appointed Gary Krebs of Lancaster to be Plumbing Administrator for the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Industrial Compliance. He began serving in his new position on February 3.

Mr. Krebs has 32 years experience in the plumbing field and has served as a certified plumbing inspector since 1989. Throughout his career, Gary has been a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 189 in Columbus. In addition, he is a member and a trustee of the Ohio Association of Plumbing Inspectors.

"With Gary's extensive knowledge and experience in the plumbing field, I am confident that he will do an outstanding job in serving as Ohio's Plumbing Administrator," Director Owens said.

In his new position, Mr. Krebs will oversee the Plumbing Section of the Bureau of Construction Compliance. This section enforces the Ohio Plumbing Code and certifies plumbing inspectors. The inspectors help maintain a safe water source by enforcing proper design and installation of water waste and vent piping systems. The Plumbing Section also reviews plumbing plans before issuing permits and dispatching inspectors to enforce code compliance.
