IN BASIC INVESTING WORKSHOP AT OSU EXTENSION IN NEWARK

 

Tuesday’s Presentation Part Of Saving And Investing Education Month

Karen Terhune, Assistant Manager of the Enforcement Section of the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of Securities, will provide investor protection tips at the Basic Investing Workshop on Tuesday, April 11 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. The workshop will be held at The Ohio State University Extension, 711 East Main Street, Newark.

Governor Bob Taft has proclaimed April to be Saving and Investing Education Month in the State of Ohio. This observance month, which is part of a national investor education campaign, is designed to encourage consumers to save, invest wisely, and protect themselves against fraudulent schemes.

Ms. Terhune will discuss the role of the Ohio Division of Securities and provide tips on how to avoid investment fraud and abuse. She will speak from 7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. and will then participate in a panel discussion with local securities brokers.
