Statehouse Ceremony to Honor Savings Bonds Poster Contest Winners

Details: The 2000 U.S. Savings Bonds Poster Contest is sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Huntington Bank, and administered in Ohio by the Ohio Department of Commerce. The poster contest was introduced in 1992 by the US Department of Treasury as a way to promote the savings ethic among our nations young people, while increasing public awareness about US Savings Bonds.
Entrants are in grades four through six. The top posters from schools across Ohio will be displayed and the top three winning artists will be announced. The first place winner, from Salem, Ohio, will receive a $1,000 savings bond. The second place winner, from Dayton, Ohio, will receive a $500 savings bond while the third place winner from Wooster, Ohio will receive a $200 savings bond. The top poster will be entered in the National Poster contest.
