LANCASTER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO HEAR
PERSONAL FINANCE TIPS FROM OHIO DIVISION OF SECURITIES SPEAKER
Thursday's Presentations Are Part Of Saving And Investing Education Week
Caryn Francis, Chief of the Enforcement Section of the Ohio Division of Securities, will discuss personal finance topics with students at Lancaster High School, 1312 Granville Pike, Lancaster, on Thursday, April 29. She will make six presentations between 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Governor Bob Taft has proclaimed the week of April 25-May 1 as Saving And Investing Education Week. The week, which is being recognized in more than 20 countries, is designed to encourage consumers to save, invest wisely, and protect themselves against fraudulent schemes. This year's campaign is focusing on young people, particularly high school students who are beginning to form their saving and investing habits.
Ms. Francis will discuss the reasons that people invest and describe the factors to consider when selecting various investment options. She will also provide tips on how to avoid investment scams and will describe how the Division of Securities enforces the Ohio Securities Act.
