OHIO DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE CHARTERS SETTLERS BANK IN MARIETTA

Gary C. Suhadolnik, director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, announced today the opening of Settlers Bank as Ohio’s newest state-chartered bank. Settlers Bank opened today at 9 a.m. at the corner of Third and Church streets in Marietta.

“The opening of Settlers Bank marks the ninth state-chartered bank to open for business in Ohio since 1995,” said F. Scott O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Ohio Department of Commerce's Division of Financial Institutions. “The creation of new banks demonstrates the strength of Ohio’s banking industry and increases the number of banking options for Ohio’s citizens.”

Superintendent O'Donnell issued the Certificate of Authority to Commence Business on July 20. The chief executive officer of the bank is James A. Meagle, Jr.
