Ohio Women Firefighters Plan Special Event for Women Interested in Becoming Firefighters

Who: Director of Commerce Donna Owens, along with numerous women firefighters and 20 female participants.

What: "Can You Take The Heat" Day, For women who are interested in fire service. They will get hands-on experience on what it is like to be a firefighter.

When: Saturday, October 24, 1998

The Fire Marshal's Office trains firefighters, enforces the Ohio Fire Code, investigates the cause and origins of fires and explosions, provides fire prevention programs, and performs other services. Other Commerce divisions enforce regulations regarding industrial compliance, financial institutions, real estate, securities, auctioneers, unclaimed funds and private investigators, among others. Career opportunities and scheduling

After the five topics have been discussed, questions from the audience will be encouraged.
