OHIO HEROES TO BE HONORED
Fire Marshal Awards Honor Firefighters and Civilians
What: Ohio Fire Service Hall of Fame Awards Dinner
Who: Ohio Department of Commerce Director Donna Owens;
State Fire Marshal James McNamee;
Speaker JoAnn Davidson, Ohio House of Representatives;
Patrick Guaniciale, Chairman, State Fire Commission; and 13 Fire Service Valor Award recipients, two Distinguished Service Award recipients, and 16 Citizens Award for Heroism recipients.
When: Thursday, September 24, 1998, at 8:00 p.m. (Media may want to arrive by 7:45 p.m.)
Where: Division of State Fire Marshal

Reynoldsburg, Ohio
Details: Thirteen firefighters will receive Ohios Fire Service Valor Award for their bravery and actions above and beyond the call of duty, and two will be presented the Ohio Distinguished Service Award for their remarkable careers in the fire service. In addition, 16 civilians, including one group of 14 individuals, will be honored for acts of bravery with the Ohio Citizens Award for Heroism.
Donna Owens, Director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, along with State Fire Marshal James McNamee and Patrick Guanciale, Chairman of the Ohio Fire Commission, will present the awards following a 7 p.m. dinner held at the Ohio Department of Commerces Division of State Fire Marshal. Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives JoAnn Davidson will also be in attendance to help honor the award recipients and give the keynote address.
This years recipients come from the following Ohio cities: Cincinnati, Columbus, Cuyahoga Falls, Holland, Huron, Lakewood, Maumee, and Toledo.
