DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE CHARTERS EATON FAMILY CREDIT UNION

(Columbus)--Donna Owens, director of the Ohio Department of Commerce, today announced the addition of Ohio’s newest state-chartered credit union -- Eaton Family Credit Union, 19201 Villaview, Suite 117, Cleveland. Superintendent of Financial Institutions W. Curtis Stitt issued the Certificate of Authority to Commence Business today. The credit union was previously regulated by the National Credit Union Administration.

Eaton Family Credit Union is the fourth federally chartered credit union to convert to a state charter following the AT&T Family Federal Credit Union court case in which the fields of membership for federally chartered credit unions were limited.

In making the announcement, Director Owens said, "The Ohio Department of Commerce looks forward to working with Eaton Family Credit Union as it continues to service the needs of its members."

The credit union, with $20 million in assets, has branch offices located at:

• 1111 Superior Ave., Cleveland

• 899 Eaton Drive, Humbolt, Tennessee
