Director of Commerce Gary C.
Suhadolnik has selected Joel Sechler, of Confluence, as a summer legal intern
for the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of State Fire
Marshal.
The
Summer Legal Internship programs runs from May to August and provides law school
students with a substantial amount of experience in legal research and writing,
focusing on issues of administrative law and regulatory matters within a diverse
state agency.
Sechler is a graduate of
Susquehanna University and will begin his second year of law studies at the Ohio
State University College of Law this fall.
Sechler is the son of
Everett and Christine Sechler of Confluence.

The Division of State Fire Marshal is part of the Ohio Department of Commerce. The Fire Marshal’s Office trains firefighters, enforces the Ohio Fire Code, investigates the cause and origins of fires and explosions, provides fire prevention programs, and performs other services. Other Commerce divisions enforce regulations regarding industrial compliance, financial institutions, real estate, securities, unclaimed funds, liquor, labor issues and worker safety.
