certified to enforce the Ohio Building Code? |

No. These calls are referred to the
Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB). |

Does the Board of Building Standards have jurisdiction for
questions about the construction of or problems with one-, two-, or
three-family construction? |
As a
result of H.B. 175, the Board will be receiving the recommendation of the
residential construction advisory committee on a residential code to be used by
all political subdivisions that wish to enforce 1-, 2-, and 3-family building
code.
Code questions and
requests for code interpretations will be able to come to the Board after the
residential code becomes effective. (Earliest-July 2006)

The Board does not grant variances
from the Ohio Building Code (OBC). Another State board, the Ohio Board of
Building Appeals (BBA), has the legislative authority to hear appeals for and
grant variances to the OBC. |
