Frank
Conway is the Superintendent of the Ohio Fire Academy, which has proudly been
serving the Ohio Fire Community for 26 years. He joined the State Fire
Marshal’s Ohio Fire Academy in November of 1986 as a Fire Training Officer.
Chief Conway began his career with the Fire Service in September of 1970. In
1974, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Urbana College. After earning
his degree, Conway served as a firefighter in Madison County with the Central
Township Fire Department. He was Assistant Chief of the Department, which
covers 189 square miles. Superintendent Conway was also Chairman of the Madison
County Local Emergency Planning Committee and Chairman of the Madison County
Chiefs. Currently, in addition to his role as Superintendent of the Academy,
Chief Conway serves as the State Fire Marshal’s representative to the State
Emergency Response Commission (S.E.R.C.), the State Incident Command Overview
Committee, the State Emergency Operations Center, the Ohio Rural Fire Council
and the Senior Interagency Coordination Group (S.I.C.G.) dealing with
Terrorism.
