After 5 p.m. and on weekends, please call 614-536-0047. Please note, UST owners and operators are required to report releases to BUSTR within 24 hours of discovery. ABOUT BUSTR Welcome to the Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR), a Bureau of the State of Ohio Fire Marshal's office. The Bureau's mission is to effectively regulate the safe operation of underground storage tanks and to ensure appropriate investigation and cleanup of releases from underground storage tanks for the purpose of protecting human health and the environment for the citizens of Ohio. The Bureau presently consists of 25 employees and performs the following:
The regulation of underground storage tanks is a federally mandated program. BUSTR is financed through a combination of federal grants and registration and permit fees.
