State Bid for Fire Truck

The idea for a State Bid for a fire engine began in the summer of 1999 as a way for the State Fire Marshal's Office to extend the limited funds in our Revolving Loan Program.  The advantage is for any Ohio Fire Department to order an engine at a highly competitive price very easily.  The basic truck costs $143,600 which is built on an International chassis with a 1,250 GPM pump and a 1,000-gallon tank.  Approximately twenty options from a pre-piped deluge to a compressed air foam system are available on the bid.

The State bid is available thru December 31, 2002. More information or a copy of the bid specifications is available at the Department of Admistrative Services web site or by clicking on the PDF files provided below.

The first State Bid engine to be delivered was to the S R W W Joint Fire District 2 in Clinton County. Pictured is State Fire Marshal Robert Rielage congratulating Fire Chief Charles Gaskins on his Department's new engine.

We hope in the future to work on other state bids including a 2,000 gallon tanker and a Type III EMS vehicle.
